Case-Control Study

Definition

An observational study that compares individuals with a disease or outcome (cases) to similar individuals without the disease (controls), looking backward to identify potential risk factors.

Example

Comparing smoking history between patients with lung cancer (cases) and patients without lung cancer (controls).
