Relative Risk

Definition

The ratio of the probability of an event occurring in an exposed group versus a non-exposed group. Used in prospective studies to measure the strength of association.

Example

A relative risk of 1.8 means the exposed group is 1.8 times more likely to experience the outcome than the unexposed group.
