Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT)

Definition

An experimental study design where participants are randomly assigned to an intervention group or a control group, considered the gold standard for evaluating treatment efficacy.

Example

A trial where 500 patients are randomly assigned to receive either a new antibiotic or the standard treatment for pneumonia.
